We were commissioned to design the first ever Norrsken Foundation Office and Co-working space, situated in an old tramshed in the heart of Stockholm. Working with a strategy to retain as much of the openness of the original space, we housed all the small offices and meeting rooms in a centrally located volume, which allowed the rest of the spaces to be open and flexible in use. The material palette is simple, and uses real material properties such as render, concrete, glass and wood, to complement the original materials of the building. With the use of these materials, the spatial experience is one of light, reflections and layered views, creating a space that is joyfully surprising in its complexity.
